The Troutbeck event is going to be the biggest ever held in terms of Elite entries – we have 20 Elite Men and 8 Elite Women coming from all over the world – joining our Zimbabwe entry Gideon Benade Jnr, there will be athletes from Belgium, Czech Republic, Ireland, Germany, Morocco, Egypt, and South Africa – reigning Troutbeck African Cup title holder Jonas Breinlinger from Germany will be defending his title – and in the Junior African cup there are 18 Junior Men and 10 Junior Women competing in this inaugural Junior African Cup event – athletes from Egypt, Tunisia, Mauritius, Namibia and South Africa will be joining our Juniors on the Start line – this is going to be a very exciting event
The REVISED DETAILED EVENT SCHEDULE has been sent by email to the database (it has also been uploaded here on the website so go to 2019 Troutbeck Multisport Festival on the home page and follow the drop downs to all the events).
There have been amendments and contains very important information on everything that is taking place on Friday 15th February AND race day Saturday 16th February. It is imperative that you read this document carefully so that you can plan your journey to Troutbeck to be there in time for Course Familiarisations, registrations and briefings on Friday
For those planning to arrive on SATURDAY for events taking place later in the day i.e. Aquathlon and Open Water Swim – again – please check the Event Schedule for your registration and check in times. You must take into account that there will be TRIATHLON RACES taking place from 0700 and there will be cyclists and runners on the road.
Access to the main gate of the hotel will be strictly monitored and you will experience delays in getting into the hotel complex to park. Dedicated parking areas will be set up and you will be directed by the marshals and officials.
SCHOOLS COMING IN BUSES – please ensure that you contact the LOC to advise your time of arrival so that the Officials can be forewarned of your arrival and make arrangements for parking of your bus
Please get your entries in guys – this is going to be a fantastic event – join us for a wonderful weekend away in the beautiful Eastern Highlands and show all our foreign athletes what Zimbabwean spirit and hospitality is all about.
