It is with great sadness that we advise that Mel Barnes has stepped down as Secretary General of Triathlon Zimbabwe as she will be moving to the UK at the end of the month, we will be very sorry to see her go but wish her every success in her new ventures – Mel please do keep in touch with us. I was asked and following my recent surgery I have agreed to resume the SG position in the meantime.
Over the past week we have received some exciting ITU news that we would like to share with you all – our congratulations go to –
PAM FULTON who has been selected as 1 of 5 ITU coaches to attend the first programme of The Women’s Sport Leadership Academy for High Performance Coaches (WSLA HPC) which has been specifically designed and developed for high-performance coaches, with the aim of preparing them to step up and become part of an increased cohort of female triathlon coaches at the Continental, International and Olympic level. The ITU was chosen by the IOC to be one of the first International Federations to take part in this project due to its existing initiatives around women in triathlon coaching.
DAVID ELLIS has been assigned as TD for the 2020 Cape Town ITU Triathlon World Cup event in February 2020
RICK FULTON has been assigned as aTD at the 2020 ITU World Triathlon, World Triathlon Mixed Relay Series and ITU Paratriathlon World Cup events in Abu Dhabi in March 2020
LAURELLE BROWN, ROB WALLACE and GIDEON BENADE will be departing for Korea towards the end of the month to attend the 2019 KTF-ITU Level One and Level Two ITU Coaching Courses
