CANCELLATION OF SPORTING EVENTS
In light of the current global Covid-19 situation, all Sporting Federations received a directive from the Ministry of Sport via the Sports and Recreation Commission that all sporting events and gatherings of more than 100 people are banned with immediate effect following the address made by the President this week.
The Executive Board met yesterday to discuss the situation and sadly, we must advise that the final event on the calendar schedule to take place on 29 MARCH has been CANCELLED. The Annual Season Prize Giving presentation of trophies and Award Certificates for Triathlon and Aquathlon will now take place at the end of our first event in September – date will be confirmed once the 2020-2021 Calendar is finalised.
The List of Award and Trophy Winners will be published this coming week so please all check the list and make a note and reminder to come to the first event in September to receive your award / trophy.
AQUATHLON PARTICIPATION TROPHY –
The first 2020-2021 event in September will include AQUATHLON and the number of teams each school sends to participate will be counted towards the final scores for the 2019-2020 series and the winner will be announced. In addition, those teams results on that day will count towards the 2020-2021 Series points.
32ND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The date for the Annual General Meeting has been set for SUNDAY 7TH JUNE 2020 – venue and times will be advised in due course but in the meantime, please diarise this date. It is vital that members make the effort to attend the AGM – a new Executive Board is elected by YOU, and it is also your opportunity to speak up and voice your concerns on how TZ is run, your suggestions on how to improve things etc., All members are welcome to attend. The official notice will be sent out 30 days prior to the AGM – should there be any reason why the AGM cannot take place we will advise you
