A huge thank you to EVERYONE who made the journey to Smallbridge Dam in Penhalonga to participate in either triathlon, off-road, aquathlon or open water swim event – although I was unable to be there, I have heard all the great feedback and seen the fantastic photos and am so glad that it was such a success.
The event would not have been possible without the support of ELECTROSALES ZIMBABWE – our sincere thanks and appreciation are extended to the Management of Electrosales for their sponsorship, commitment and support for this event – thank you for the t-shirts and caps that were distributed as give-aways and we look forward to your support for the 2021 event.
We also extend our huge appreciation to EASTERN ANGLNG SOCIETY for allowing us to use their venue for our event – thank you Natalie and Kerry for all your assistance and special thanks to NATHAN the caretaker who goes above and beyond to assist our team on arrival and for the duration of our stay at Smallbridge Dam.
There are so many people to thank and forgive me if I have omitted anyone but special thanks must go to –
Shaun Shelton who set up and organised the event assisted by Dean Flight who gave up his time and travelled to the venue a few days before to get everything ready – clearing the transition area and getting the courses ready.
Rick Fulton as Compliance Officer and for overseeing the whole event – Man with Many Caps
Tracey Jacobs for taking on the Registration and to all the Mums (Tammy, Heidi, Roa, Minette, Gail and Sue) who assisted with timing and recording
Christo Jacobs and all the Dads (Murray, Mark and Dave) for assisting on the road courses
Ian Duncan and Wayne Moss for doing the Water Safety and to all the Technical Officials who were able to attend and take on whatever roles were assigned
Thanks also to Tracey Doorman and Zimbabwe Aquatics Union for including this event as part of their Open Water Swim Championship series and for preparing the start lists for the swim event – thanks to the parents on site who helped with timing and recording and to all the swimmers who travelled to Penhalonga to participate.
Thanks also to everyone who sent me photos on whatsapp – and for uploading the hundreds of fantastic shots on our Facebook page – it will take me a few days to download and upload to the website album.  Please feel free to keep adding photos to our page and if you are not a member of the FB group please send a join request.
The Results from the event and the Updated Selection Points were sent out by email but can be downloaded from the webpage – WELL DONE TO ALL OF YOU and we hope that you enjoyed the whole experience – weather is something we cannot control but on the day, but it was sunny and warm and a great day for racing.  We look forward to the 2021 event and to having you all back again.
