Wow what a fantastic weekend we had at Smallbridge Dam, thank you to everyone who made the journey and joined us for this event, turnout was not as good as we had expected but with the recent increase in covid cases we had quite a few cancellations due to family members testing positive and taking the correct course of action in isolating and staying at home. We wish you all a speedy recovery and please keep safe.
Once again we apologise for the delay in the start of the triathlon events on Saturday due to the late arrival of the Medical Cover crew but as you all know by now – your safety is our paramount concern and no races could start until they were on site. Racing conditions were difficult with the heat and the wind, however we had no incidents and no injuries and were ready and prepared to manage the extreme heat conditions. Well done to everyone – there were some great times achieved across the board. Thank you to the Swimming fraternity who arrived on Sunday to take part in the open water swim event on Sunday.
Thanks go to the Technical Officials and volunteer parents who assisted with the race management, your helps is greatly appreciated. To Eastern Angling Society for allowing us to use your beautiful venue – thank you. Also to Roa Botha and the Tour Committee for organising burgers at lunch time and for the delicious Curry and Rice dinner. Thanks to Marlies Van As and Colcom for the yummy burger patties and to Rob Hacker for the Curry and Rice dinner – and to Dudu Mthethwa who donated and supplied all the ice that was critical to our event management – thank you everyone – all proceeds raised will be going to Tour Fundraising for 2022 Tours.
