The official event launch of the Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup Troutbeck and Multisport Festival took place at Holiday Inn in Harare on Monday 27th February, attended by representatives from our fantastic sponsors Coca-Cola, Schweppes Zimbabwe, Cimas iGO, CFAO Motors, Ecocash Zimbabwe and African Sun Hotels – sadly Rooneys were unable to attend due to previous commitments.
Members of the Media attended a Workshop prior to the event launch where Rick Fulton, Event Organiser, presented a comprehensive guide to everything you could ever know about Triathlon not only in ZImbabwe but throughout the world. Mr Thabani Gonye, President of the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee also gave a presentation and outlined the position of triathlon as an Olympic sport and its value to Zimbabwe.
With just on one month to go until the event, we are hugely excited to advise that we have Elite and Junior athletes representing countries from across the globe coming to race at Troutbeck – we look forward to welcoming representatives from Austria, Bermuda, Chile, Ireland, Finland, Guam, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Togo and Ukraine – and more still to enter.
This 2023 Triathlon Africa Cup Troutbeck marks the 15th Anniversary of the event at Troutbeck – the longest running event of this nature on the African Continent – a very exciting occasion for Triathlon Zimbabwe.
