This weekend was a great success for our athletes Duwan Botha and Andie Kuipers who competed at the 2023 Africa Triathlon Junior Cup and Africa Triathlon Sprint Cup events respectively in Blue Bay Mauritius.
National Coach Pam Fulton was appointed as Head Coach for a Junior Development Camp that is taking place this coming week in which Duwan will participate. Duwan will then participate in the Zone 2 Championship event next weekend.
Yesterday Duwan placed 10th overall in the Junior Men’s event with a time of 01:08:35 – a great achievement for this young man and a very exciting future in triathlon ahead for him.
Today was the turn of our Elite athlete Andie Kuipers who competed in the U23/Elite Women’s event finishing 5th overall AND securing the SILVER MEDAL in the U23 Category !!! Andie placed 2nd after South Africa’s Bridget Theunissen who won the Gold and ahead of Kenya’s Aisha Baksh who took the Bronze.
A brilliant weekend of racing and huge congratulations to both Duwan and Andie on such fantastic results.
