Dear Triathlon Zimbabwe family,
This is an urgent appeal for assistance sent on behalf of one of our much valued Technical Officials, Mr Lawrence Sarangika.
You will all have made his acquaintance over the past few seasons either in transition or at the Mount/Dismount Line at our Mount Pleasant events. Lawrence joined the Triathlon family a few years ago as one of the team of Riggers who work really hard to set up the courses and the venue for our events, he has since gone on to do the Level One Technical Officials course and is an accredited Level One TO. He is an invaluable member of our team, particularly at Troutbeck.
Lawrence recently sustained an injury to his ankle in an accident and he requires surgery as soon as possible otherwise he may never be able to walk properly again.
Neither he, nor his employer are in a financial position to cover the cost of the surgery, hospital stay, medicines, after-care and possible physiotherapy afterwards.
We are appealing for donations from the triathlon family and wider community to try and raise funds which will assist in covering all of the medical expenses which are estimated at US$ 3000.
If you are in a position to assist, please would you contact the Secretary General or the Treasurer to arrange for payments – ALL donations received will be managed by the Triathlon Zimbabwe Treasurer.
We appreciate that times are hard for everyone but at this time of year, in the season of goodwill, we hope that perhaps you could spare a few dollars which will go towards assisting Lawrence in getting the surgery done and back on his feet again soon.
