Some of our Juniors Matt Denslow, Mikayla Colegrave, Andie Kuipers and Luke Heathcote-Hacker accompanied by coach Pamela Fulton recently returned from Brive in France. These young athletes were selected by the ATU and FraTri (France Triathlon) to participate in a training camp in Brive, France from 17th to 24th June 2019.
This is the second year that this camp has been organised by FraTri with the main objectives being to offer the best young African athletes a first class intensive training experience, culminating in a competition race at the end of the week participating in the French University Championships – this is all part of the development plans and is an ongoing process to support young athletes from all over Africa and prepare them for the Paris 2024 Olympics.r
Another great day of racing for Zim. Andie won bronze in U16/17 category and 11 lady overall out of 66 and first from Team Africa. Mikayla also had a good solid race and came 21.
Matt had a fantastic run despite cutting his toe badly at the beginning of the bike. He was first from Team Africa, 24 out of 176 men whilst Luke came 49, a good result being the youngest.
Coach Pam Fulton competed in a team event with Senegal, winning Gold.
