Sunday 26th February – such an exciting day of racing for our Youth and Juniors at Maselspoort in South Africa, hot and windy conditions made racing quite difficult but each and every athlete gave 150% and all of them posted fantastic times.
In the Africa Junior Cup, Duwan Botha placed 9th overall in the Junior Men’s event, and Anje van As placed 5th overall in the Junior Women’s event – brilliant racing by both of these fine young athletes – a very exciting future ahead for them
In the Youth races, we had athletes in the U13 and U15 Boys and U13 Girls events – again, these athletes really raised the bar and all of them posted fantastic times and all placed in the top 10 in their age categories.
Special mention is made of, and huge congratulations go to RACHEL O’DONOGHUE who won the GOLD MEDAL in the Girls 12-13 race – she was also the first girls across the line out of all the U13 and U15 athletes !! Rachel is an incredibly talented athlete and we are incredibly proud of her.
