The unveiling ceremony of Team Zimbabwe who will be competing at the Africa Games in Morocco in August was held this morning. Team Zimbabwe is made up of athletes, coaches and managers from different sporting disciplines throughout the country.
Triathlon Zimbabwe are very proud to announce that the team selected to represent Zimbabwe and compete are –
Matthew Denslow, Jordyn Jacobs, Andie Kuipers and Laurelle Brown with Pam Fulton as Coach/Manager
They will be racing in the Elite individual events as well as the Team Relay event in Rabat.
For those who may not know her, Laurelle, Brown is a past Youth and Junior National Champion who also competed at African Championships and World Championships at Junior Level. She is an ex Peterhouse Girls pupil who has recently returned home after completing her University Degree in the United Kingdom.
The selected athletes have been through intensive training and time trials over the past few weeks and are race ready. They are scheduled to depart for Morocco on 15th August.
Congratulations to all of these fine athletes and all the very best at the Games – and as the Honourable Minister of Sports, Art and Recreation said this morning – no pressure guys – just bring home the medals !!!
